Have you ever bought a pool and spa descaler and it doesn't work? This usually means that what you're trying to remove is not calcium or scale. This can be for a couple of different reasons.

1. It's possible that what you're trying to is actually oil and scum from suntan lotions and body oils. Look more closely at what you're trying to remove. Is it hard like calcium? Or is it softer, like something more oil-based? If you think it may be more oil-based, then try using Safecid Pool & Spa Degreaser.

2. Oftentimes, especially in salt-based pools, what looks like calcium is actually the result of a chemical reaction that creates a quartz-like substance. This will not be removed by any pool descaler.
